It gives me great pleasure to announce that I, Ellie Baker, have won the first Tendring Technology College iVoice Presidential election.
I would like to start by thanking Liam Kerr, Beth Page, Blossom Bond, Eleanor Buxton, Nicole El-Safty, Joe Rackham and Alfred Leigh for being such amazing candidates. It takes a great deal of courage and bravery to stand up in front of entire year groups and campaign to help better our school. It has been an honour working with you all and I look forward to working with you all again soon. Each one of you should be extremely proud of yourselves and I promise to make you all proud in the work we conduct as a team. I would also like to thank all the staff, students, and parents who voted and for all your support throughout the election. It meant a great deal to all who took part.
My first act as College President will be to try and bring staff, students, and parents closer together to ensure that we all get the most out of the College. Over the next few weeks I will also be working with staff to spread the iVoice budget across both Thorpe and Frinton sites. I would also like to work closely with all Curriculum Leaders to help make each subject as beneficial and enjoyable as possible to both the teachers and students. Other ideas I have for our College include:
- Setting up a mini bus scheme
- Encouraging staff and students to plan lessons together so everyone can get the most out of them. This includes different ways of learning to make sure students feel that they are learning the way they feel most suitable to them
- Organising GCSE and A-Level taster days
- Re-evaluating the reward system and Learning Logs
- Setting up a group of Subject Buddies to help students in all lessons
- Placing an Ideas Box at both sites to ensure staff, students, and parents can voice their opinions
I have many more ideas that I wish to put into action and I would like to thank all those who helped me put them together. I would also like to thank all those who voted and all the other brilliant candidates once again for your support.
Election of College President
Eight students from across both Campuses have been successful in having the opportunity to run for the first ever College President.
The successful candidates are: Ellie Baker, Blossom Bond, Eleanor Buxton, Nicole El-Safty, Liam Kerr, Alfie Leigh, Beth Page and Joe Rackham.
On Friday 21 June, the College will become a Polling Station, allowing you to cast your vote. We welcome all parents, students and staff to vote for one of the above candidates and to have their voice heard. Parents/guardians can collect a ballot paper from the Frinton or Thorpe Front Office from 8.30am to 4.00pm. Students and staff will be able to vote throughout the day.
No ballot paper will be accepted after 4.00pm.
If parents would like to have a postal vote, then please ask your child to collect a ballot paper from either the Thorpe or Frinton Front Office and return in to Thorpe or Frinton by 4.00pm on Election Day.

iVoice Logo Competition Result
Congratulations to Sidney Leigh and Rebecca Sprague for winning the iVoice logo competition. Students from both Thorpe and Frinton had the opportunity of winning £50 by creating the logo for the new College Council.
Molly Stevens, Ralph Walendy-Wrigley and Emily Withers, the founders of iVoice, had the pleasure of picking the winner. The panel were torn with their decision and finally decided that two entries should be combined to create the final iVoice logo. Sid Leigh and Rebecca Sprague met last Friday to merge their designs to create the official iVoice logo seen below. Congratulations again to both Rebecca and Sidney on winning the prize money and developing a brilliant design.
