Year 9 student, Josef Sullivan, has had a fantastic fortnight since his Bronze medal at the British Judo Championship.  After one week he received a call-up to join the England squad and a week on from that he went to the Midlands Area Open and picked up the Silver, along with valuable ranking points.  Josef was clinical in the competition held in Walsall, throwing his quarter final opponent in just 12 seconds before holding them for the win and making even shorter work of a fellow England squad member in the semi finals, throwing for maximum points in just 9 seconds, impressing the England Performance Manager who was keeping an eye on proceedings.  A tough final against the current British number one from Gateshead went the way of the Northerner, leaving the TTC player with the Silver. The impressive performances have already got the Area and National team managers inviting Josef to events home and abroad.  Coach and Maths Teacher, Mr Salter, said that he is extremely proud of the hard work that Josef has put in to achieve what he has done to date, making his best better by knowing what he wants to achieve and finding the way to do it.  He has put in the hours, practising what he is good at as well as working on reducing his weaker areas, a great example for other students to follow to achieve, whether it be in sport, an interest or academically.
