On Wednesday 27 February, the TTC Year 7 football team travelled to Lawford to play Manningtree. The final score was 8 – 0 to Tendring and there were some cracking goals, including a hat-trick from Reuben Mudd. Within a couple of minutes TTC had taken the lead through a Calum Sage volley direct from a corner. After that goal came Reuben’s first goal and 10 minutes before half time Louis Crick scored by lobbing the keeper.
Throughout the second half, TTC continued to play attacking football and added another five goals. Highlights were a Mason Lumley penalty after a hand-ball inside the box and a fantastic first time volley from outside the area by Reuben which nestled in the top corner. Also on the score sheet was Aaron Muckle. There were debuts for Kieran Donovan and Kieran Wreford and also Jonny Allen shone in a new position of centre back.
Year 7 team – Wreford, Donovan, Sage, Allen, Woodman, Pretlove, Lumley, Muckle, Crick, Fowle, Mudd, Speck and Winter.
