TTC 5 - Chingford 0
The team travelled to Chingford in the 4th round of the Essex Cup. The squad were excited about the prospect of challenging this East London School. Chingford’s previous results were quite convincing so we knew we had a tough game ahead.

TTC arrived and Miss Harris went over the team formation and tactics. We then went outside to warm up. We soon realised the wind was to play a major factor in this game when a practice shot swerved in the air!

TTC did a keep ball warm up to get their touch and also dribbling and shooting practices.

Kick off time
As soon as the whistle blew for the start of the game, TTC pressured the ball, making Chingford players make mistakes.  TTC were playing some outstanding football with slick passing from defence to attack.

Grace Woods controlled the defence throughout the game, Chingford never looked likely to score with strong defensive tackles by Grace Woods, Megan Joy, Chloe Rowing and Amber Barker.

TTC were dominant in the first half scoring 4 goals. These were by Mae Hughes, Emily Priestly, Grace Woods and Cloe O’Brien.

In the 2nd half, TTC continued to press the Chingford players with excellent work in midfield by Mae Hughes. Emily Priestley, Luvena Fowle and Olivia Fincham created a few shots on goal, until Mae Hughes scored another.

Izzy Mcinnes and Emily Strachan worked hard up front, holding their runs to break the offside trap.

Miss Harris said, “This is the best I have seen this team play. They passed the ball with confidence and worked extremely hard. They created many opportunities and also defensively were outstanding. Next round is the quarter final v Marshalls Park School in Havering.”
