Congratulations to the cast of ‘King Lear’ who performed at the Lakeside Theatre, Essex University as part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival.  Sarah Bedford’s direction brought out acting of professional standards from this talented cast.  Mention should also be made of the students who supported behind the scenes with lighting and make-up.  There was also an evening performance at Frinton Campus as well as performances in front of KS3 students at Thorpe Campus.  I was very proud of the dynamic and positive working relationships between teacher and students, as it is this that leads to excellence.

The cast list was:

Lear - Lewis Addlington-Lee

Regan - Emma Anson

Edgar - Arron Bell

Albany - Mollie Fielder

Oswald - Jessica Gray

Edmund - Ed Hendry

Kent - Michael Lockwood

Cordelia - Charlotte McGrath

Goneril - Lucy Redgrave

Cornwall - Ellen Stuart

Gloucester - Tom Wilkin

Lighting and sound design - Matthew Ford

Hair and Make-up - Fay Harris

I had a lovely letter this week from David Lines, Chairman of the Youth Action Day Committee 2013, thanking TTC for making the YAD such an outstanding success.  Tom Rowson and Dylan Walendy-Wrigley were praised highly for their contribution.  Almost every aspect of the College was involved from reprographics to IT, from catering to the care-takers and of course the young ‘Day-Makers’ who made the day very special.

Congratulations to students and staff for their fund raising for ‘Children in Need’.  There were all sorts of activities going on, including the chance to win a Pudsey Bear cake made by one of our Year 11 students,Charley Williams, and his grandmother.

A huge well done to Walton Sea Cadets, most of whom are TTC students, for their immaculate turn out on Remembrance Sunday.
