We are proud to say that Tendring Technology College scooped prizes at the Teaching Awards event held by Essex County Council last Wednesday.

The awards evening recognised the fantastic work done by teachers and support staff throughout Essex.  We were the only school to have finalists in three categories. Jake Hobbs for 'Teaching Assistant of the Year', the Sixth Form team for 'Team of the Year' and the top prize going to our Governing Body who were awarded 'Governing Body of the Year' in Essex.

I was delighted that our Governors received this accolade.  Jean Cains has been Chair of Governors for over 25 years and she has given so much support to the College during that time. I am extremely fortunate as a  Principal to have a Board of Governors who are supportive, challenging in the right way and who bring to the table a breadth of expertise that adds value to the operation of the College.  What we should all remember though is that they hold an office that is incredibly important, carries with it huge responsibility, constantly makes demands on their time, and they do all of this for free!
