The focus this week has to be the extraordinary success of our Technology teams, with staff and students combining to great  effect to achieve National and International success.

Chloe Everett, Year 10, has reached the National finals for the Home for Design competition. See Mr Tharp's report in this issue.

International success has been achieved by our team of Year 9 technologists who, with the help of Mr Clapson and Mr Linford,  designed and built a car to enter the Shell Eco-marathon. Superbly driven by Miss Goodbrand, the car was a technological success. Thanks go to Mr Woods for looking after everybody.  See information and link below for more details. I know the team will want to write their own report with all the stories of their adventures, but in the meantime I am too excited not to give you the headline news!

The team were 10th overall and were the Number 1 British team, beating the University of Central Lancashire by over 700km/l. Not only that, according to the rankings they stand 16th in the whole world!!!

A huge thank you must go to all those who sponsored the car and made the trip possible:

Elec 2000

A H Brown Farms

National Cold Stores

Lonsdale Landscapes

Motorola

Greensward Charitable Trust

Frinton Residents Association

Frinton and Walton Town Council

and anyone else we may have missed off the list.
