Congratulations to the PE department and our PE stars who won awards at the Tendring District Sports Awards.

Myles Ashforth won first place for U18 Male Sports Personality of the Year: Myles represents England in Fencing. He recently won gold at the first round Elite Epee Junior Series and has now been selected for the Eastern Region Cadet (U17) Epee team for the cadet Winton Cup (named after Sir Nicholas Winton who saved 669 Czech children from the Nazis and who was a keen fencer and fenced for England).

I had the pleasure of meeting Amber Scott last week. She is another of our students who has achieved great things. Amber was the winner of the Royal College of Music 2014 Popular Music Award. Amber writes her own songs and also plays guitar. She played at the Royal Albert Hall at the Music for Youth prom last week. This was described as "breathtaking performances from a new generation of musical talent from across the UK".
