Every day that I walk in to Frinton Campus I am reminded by this 6ft tall presentation board that our students were winners of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Bill Bryson prize. What an achievement!  I am also reminded of the fantastic work done by our Technology students. The quality of products on display is simply outstanding.

I spent the weekend with 47 Year 9 students and 5 staff visiting the Belgium battle fields and the Somme. It was a very moving experience, particularly when our    students stood in silence at the Thiepval Memorial and laid a wreath in memory of the thousands of men who lost their lives. We found the names of 3 men named on the memorial at Thorpe-le-Soken and this made it even more poignant. There will be a full report in a later edition of College News. Our students were great company and were able to combine respect for this significant part of our history, with a sense of responsibility for their conduct while at the same time having great fun. They were a pleasure to be with.

Please be aware that while festivities and fund-raising can contribute to short term modifications to the school uniform, we will expect students to adhere strictly to the uniform code after Christmas. Parents, please help us to avoid difficult conversations next term by ensuring that your son/daughter is dressed in proper school uniform. There will be no leniency for students who are incorrectly dressed.

All the staff and Governors of TTC wish you a happy, peaceful and safe Christmas.
