Many of you will have seen the Tweets from our fantastic Year 9 trip to Ypres.  As an Executive Principal many of the tasks that I am involved in do not allow me to have the regular contact with students that I would wish.  Consequently I grab any chance I can to just be a teacher again.

Last weekend I travelled with thirty nine Year 9 students to the battle fields in Ypres and the Somme. It was a moving experience particularly looking at five students with their heads bowed in silence reflecting that their relatives names were on the huge monument at Thiepval.  There were many lighter times though that made us all laugh.  Mr Spurling's quiz was a highlight, particularly the 'Who said this?' round.

I would like to thank all staff, parents and governors for their support this term.  I would like to thank the  students for their hard work and excellent behaviour and wish you all a very happy and safe Christmas.
