The fantastic PE department at Tendring Technology College have won their second award this week, the 'Essex Fit for Life Award' at the first Daily Gazette and Essex County Standard Education Awards.  Also this week international stars of Volleyball, TTC’s Jessica Lane and Fran Smith-Daye, added more international caps to their tally after representing England in the Under 19 team.  Both girls finished joint second in the 'Female Sports Personality' category at the Tendring Sports Personality Awards.

Today, Wednesday 11 November, was a day for reflection and a time for us to remember all the men and women who have lost their lives defending their country since the beginning of World War I.  Today was also a day of pride for me; at Thorpe campus all students stood out in silence on the playground as a mark of respect.  Alongside the proud TTC uniforms stood lines of uniformed youth groups, proudly representing cadets, forces, cubs, scouts and many more.  At Frinton campus students and staff remained in classes silently contemplating together, but three young men decided this was not enough, proudly dressed in their cadet uniforms, they stood together in the quad saluting the memory of lost soldiers; Owen Hamblion and Jake Willas in Year 10 and Jamie Palfrey in Year 11 did something today that made us all feel very proud at TTC.
