What a pleasure it was to welcome prospective students to our Thorpe campus last Thursday.  It was buzzing with exciting activities and the very best of our students and staff on show.  I have to confess that I told parents that I believe we have the best PE department in the country and when I see the sports results in this week's issue, I know I am not wrong.  You do not need great facilities to create great sports students.  Any of the Year 6 students who I spoke too seemed keen to start straight away.

It was also Open Evening at Frinton campus for recruitment in to the 6th form.  The vast majority of our students stay in to our 6th form and anyone attending that evening would be able to see why.  We have an excellent range of Level 3 courses which give enormous success to our Year 12s and 13s.  We also take students who have not been with us before and this adds to the richness of our College.  Do not hesitate to contact us if you need more information.

I would like, on behalf of Tendring Technology College, to wish the Rev. Tim Fletcher and his family every happiness when they move to Stannington where Rev. Fletcher will take up the position as Priest in Charge of Christchurch.  Rev. Fletcher has always made the staff and students of TTC so welcome at the church which is why we have, for the last few years, always held our carol service at All Saints Church, Walton on the Naze.

Congratulations to Megan Newman in Year 11 who wrote an excellent piece in the Tendring magazine about her work experience at Frinton Road butchers.  Megan's article is a useful read for young people contemplating a Work Experience placement.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO JACK SPECK

Jack has recently been cast in the production of 'Lord of the Flies' which will have its premier at Norwich Theatre Royal on Wednesday 19 November.  Many of you will remember Jack's outstanding performance as 'Seymour' in the 'Little Shop of Horrors' in February this year.

Jack has been chosen as one of 22 young company members, this is an exceptional achievement as 750 young people were auditioned in East Anglia. I have already booked my tickets!
