Dear Parents and Carers

Tuesday 11 February 2014 is Safer Internet Day, a day that is very important to our College and students. Safer Internet Day is run by the INSAFE network and is celebrated every year across Europe, and in other countries worldwide.

In the UK, Safer Internet Day is organised by the UK Safer Internet Centre (www.saferinternet.org.uk), and this year’s theme is “Let’s create a better internet together.”

To celebrate the many positives of the internet, and to raise awareness of the issues that children and young people face online today, our students will be having tutorial work and assemblies concerning the issues.  Childnet International are experts in the field of online and mobile safety education and I highly recommend that you read the attachments which provide practical advice and safety tips to help manage online safety issues, and conversation starters for you to use surrounding suitable behaviour online.  It will enable you to strengthen and reinforce the safety messages that your children receive in College, in your home environment.

Yours sincerely
Mrs G Lewis
Snr. Assistant Principal
