Dear Parents of Year 8 students

posted 26 Nov 2015, 06:37 by
It’s that time of year when our thoughts turn to those living in our community who need a little extra help over the festive period.

Walton Food Bank is a charity which helps those families who, because of their current circumstances, struggle to put enough food on the table. Last year we successfully collected a substantial amount of food and other essentials, to help make life a little more bearable. We hope to do the same again this year as our Year 8 Christmas Community Challenge.

If each student were to bring in just one item, put together, this would help a significant number of families in our area. We are not expecting anyone to spend a large amount on this, indeed if there are 2 for 1 offers when you do your weekly shop please consider donating the ‘free’ item.

The main stipulation is that the item has a long shelf life which is 2016 or beyond, as it sometimes take a while for the parcels to be distributed. Your child will be asked to do this as part of their tutor group and will be given a list of the kind of items required by the food bank.

Thank you in advance for helping us again, you have been so generous so far this year for which we are very grateful.
